MAKING

puma suarez 500

One of the first design projects I worked on while at PUMA  was this boot to celebrates Suarez's 500th career goal. His ‘El Pistolero’ logo was illustrated by me and it is an extremely proud moment to see Luis Suarez himself holding up the final boot.

Thankyou to PUMA for the amazing opportunity and making me blush.

ADIDAS MAKERLAB

While working at Adidas HQ, Germany I spent a lot of time before and after work at the Maker Lab.The Adidas Maker lab was a wonderland of prototyping equipment and I used it all. From risograph printers to heat press, 3D printers to lazer cutters and ever kind of sewing machine imaginable.

From my degree I had used most of the machine apart from sewing so I chose to try something new. I challenged myself to make this collection in a week and then got to show if to a member of the  Adidas originals menswear design team.

"fresh design perspective"

"urban utilitarian would be a really interesting addition to our season"

I designed six pairs of glasses for the Specsavers Design Competition 2018. I designed each pair to be gender neutral avoiding all classic or common gender related styles and shapes. The aim of my designs were to make bold eye catching eye wear.

Each pair was designed on Solidworks and then the CAD drawing was used to lazer cut the shapes out of acrylic plastic.

I then assembled and joined the glasses using the pre designed fixings as well as other joining methods.  There was a lot of room to iterate and develop the designs in this phase. I ended up joining some pairs of glasses or sawing some in half and gluing to other pairs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process and thank Specsavers for offering young designers such a great opportunity.

EYE-WEAR DESIGN

MARY'S MEALS

Last year I designed merchandise to raise money for the Mary's Meals Charity. I screen printed 50 long sleeved shirts, 50 tote bags and 60 posters.

This project was how I started my relationship with Print Clan Studio, Glasgow. They generously let me use their screens and facilities for the project.

This was an interesting project for me as the charity in religious so I had to keep my designs respectful. This was a learning curve as I was used to doing freelance for dj's and bands rather than catholic charities which feed children in Africa. The charity was really happy with my final designs and we began sales a month after I got the brief.

This is one of the most rewarding projects I have completed. The charity was lovely to communicate with and we ultimatley raised

michaela huber

Michaela Huber is a bespoke furniture designer with a studio in Edinburgh. I had a specific project I wanted to complete and reached out to Michaela who kindly offered her help in the form of work experience.

The project I was undertaking was to build the housing for a speaker. I wanted to make mountainous shapes as well as a curved piece of wood to emulate the world. The electronic components which I am still fine tuning will sit in the centre of the curve.

I spent a week working with Michaela and got the opportunity to develop my wooden prototyping, joining and machine skills. I love the final result and really enjoyed my time with Michaela a hugely talented and especially generous woman with her time, tools and expertise.
