3D MODELLING
3D MODELLING

puma future z
During my internship in footwear design at PUMA HQ my first task was to create a 3D model for the Future Z. The team wanted this as well as a detailed UV map so I could quickly mock up new Graphic concepts on the 3D model. I used Blender and Keyshot to create the model and made various graphics to demonstrate the functioning UV map.

Adidas 3d clo
While working in product developed at Adidas my team was spearheading the use of 3D software to reduce the amount of physical samples required. In my role I worked heavily in 3D for techpacking the styles and editing the graphics and patterns in 3D. These pieces we made using Marvellous Designer during concept generation for the originals team.
alg-air

I completed this project as part of my studies at The University of Technology Sydney. The brief was to redesign a common product and to integrate electronic components which we would ardunio code.
Poor Air Quality was a massive issue which impacted my daily life in Sydney so I chose to redesign a face mask. I made an enclosed breathing system in which a pump filtered air through a chlorella back pack to the face mask. There were C02 sensors and an LED feedback screen so the user could monitor the external air quality compared to their clean air feed. There was also an LED ring on the mask to inform the user when the air was filtered and ready for use.
elliptical

I designed this elliptical training using Solidworks 2018. The final assembly was over 300 individual parts, The most complex element being the electro- magnetic resistance fly wheel.
I designed the four bar linkage to be similar to that of a tread mill and optimal for my target market of young professionals seeking a hard work out .I used solidworks analysis to conduct a cross section and stress analysis and the trainer succeeded in both.
I decided to make the entire machine reflective it would fit into anyone's home with ease. Reflecting the tones and lighting of any environment. Making it an aesthetic feature of the home rather than a bulky eye sore. Appealing the the target market of trendy young professionals
The LED screen on the trainer has an integrated app. The app has two modes work or life. Work allows the user to dictate emails and organise their calendars where as the life feature offers a reprieve from stress. With personalised comedy or philosophy podcasts.
locomotor

For this project we were given a small motor and told to design a walking mechanism which could support and be powered by said motor. I designed to design my mechanism to look like a shuffling sumo wrestler.
I based my walking mechanism off of Theo Jansens strandbeest design. I designed the flat 2D pieces on CAD and then lazer cut and assembled them.
Once I had the mechanism working with the motor I added and LED in the cheek of the sumo wrestlers face as well as a resistor as an earing.
The most challenging part of this project was the actual assembly and debugging the motor issues. The design was enjoyable but the jump from 3D modelling and rendering to actual assembly is often underestimated.
I was very proud of my little sumo man walking 2 feet on presentation day with the last minute addition of a CAM mechanism bobbing his head up and down.
